Cristle Collins Judd was appointed the president of Sarah Lawrence College in 2017. She is an award-winning scholar and teacher with a distinguished career in higher education, higher education administration, and philanthropy. Identifying and implementing new directions and opportunities for higher education, particularly with relation to strategic public-private partnerships has been a hallmark of Judd’s leadership. An accomplished CEO, she excels at leading a complex organization, identifying new opportunities and diversifying revenue streams to transform its business model. Judd began her academic career on the faculty at the University of Pennsylvania, where she advanced through the academic ranks and was the first woman tenured in the music department. She subsequently served as the Dean for Academic Affairs and Chief Academic Officer at Bowdoin College and as a Senior Program Officer at the Mellon Foundation.
