A practitioner-scholar, strategist, and author with twenty years of experience bridging national and international collaborations between academia and the public and private sectors, Mariana is the Vice Provost and Academic Dean for Continuing and Professional Education and Associate Professor of Strategic Design and Management in the School of Design Strategies at Parsons School of Design, The New School. Her research is focused on the capacity of design to advance innovation in organizations and environments of social complexity. Her latest publication (co-editor) is Design for Social Innovation: Case Studies from Around the World ( Routledge, 2021). Mariana lectures internationally and serves on prominent boards and juries in the arts and design fields, including the Board of Aalto University, Finland. She is an Honorary President of the Cumulus Association, a Salzburg Global Fellow, and a Fellow with the Royal Society of the Arts. Mariana holds a Ph.D. in Management from Case Western Reserve University; an M.A. in Art History and Museum Studies from the University of Southern California, and a Licence en Lettres Degree from the Sorbonne University, Paris, where she also studied Art History at L’Ecole du Louvre. Mariana is a native of Argentina and grew up around the world.
